T.H.I.N.K. Before You Post

We’ve all been in situations where we’ve spoken without wisdom and later regretted it. In Luke 6:45, Jesus said “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Whether we like it or not, our words express who we are, and how we represent Jesus Christ. This also applies to our online presence where social media and broadcast platforms lend themselves to rapid and often unthoughtful reactions. I would encourage you to consider the T.H.I.N.K. acronym before your next post or comment on your online platforms.

T – Is it true

H – Is it helpful

I – Is it inspiring

N – Is it necessary

K – Is it kind

Do we have the mind of Christ? Do we have a renewed and transformed mind or are we responding how the world does?

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” -Romans 12:2

The Apostle Paul exhorts the Ephesian church with this:

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:29-32
